Zutaten:
- 125g Hirse + 250ml Wasser
- 1 Paprika
- 1 große Tomate
- 1 Frühlingszwiebel
- 1 Orange
- 1 EL Essig
- 2-3 EL Ahornsirup
- Salz
- Pfeffer
- Ingwer (ein ganz kleines Stück)
- ggf. Cashews
Zubereitung:
Ingredients:
- 125g millet + 250ml water
- 1 paprika
- 1 big tomato
- 1 spring onion
- 1 orange
- 1 tbs vinegar
- 2-3 tbs maple sirup
- salt
- pepper
- ginger (very small piece)
- cashews if you like
Preparation:
First we cook the millet with water, a little bit of salt and pepper and a small piece of ginger, cut into tiny pieces or put through a garlic press. Cook as long as it says on the package, ususally this doesn't take very long for millet. In the meantime we chop the vegetables and squeeze the orange. When the millet is done and has cooled down a little bit, we add all other ingredients.
Now stir - and you're done! :)
Millet is high in iron and it becomes more absorbable by adding vitamin C. As vitamin C is sensitive to heat, we don't cook the vegetables and orange juice with the millet but wait for it to cool down a little.
